The event is in promotion of his upcoming psychological thriller film, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which he co-wrote, produced, and stars in. The movie, directed by Trey Edward Shults, follows a fictionalized version of The Weeknd on a journey of self-discovery. The film is based on his final studio album under his alias and is set to be distributed by Lionsgate on May 16. This appearance at Coachella will be The Weeknd's first in two years, following his previous headline performances in 2018 and 2022.
