Field Hockey Player Has Finger Amputated So He Can Play In The Olympics

Australian field hockey player Matt Dawson is making the ultimate sacrifice to play in the Olympics. Two weeks ago, Dawson badly injured his right ring finger when he was hit by a hockey stick during practice. The injury was so bad it would require reconstructive surgery and two months of recovery time.  So instead, Dawson chose to have the top part of his finger amputated. Dawson said he made the decision in part because this might be his final Olympics: "If taking the top of my finger was the price I had to pay, that’s what I would do.” Do you think Dawson will regret his decision someday?  What would give up a finger for?
