According to MIT and Freethink: A new series of reactors at MIT are being worked on that would create carbon-free hydrogen fuel solely by using the sun! According to the MIT team's concept, it could harness up to 40% of the sun's heat to generate the hydrogen. The best designs at the moment can only harness a fraction of that, and are low-yield and high-cost.
